The original Hoian Vinh Hung 1 Hotel is a 125 year-old Chinese trader's home a block from Hoi An's Japanese covered bridge on Tran Phu Street. For those who really want to soak in Hoi An's architectural flavor, stay in one of the two second-storey rooms in the original wooden house. Furnished with antique furniture and oriental rugs these rooms are the real thing. These rooms have a balcony overlooking Tran Phu Street and it was one of these Special Chinese rooms which recently served as Michael Caine's dressing room during the filming of The Quiet American.

To offer our guests more comfort Vinh Hung 1 Hotel is at the moment being remodeled from a 12-room hotel to a 6-room hotel and will open again on the 1st of March 2008.
Suite rooms: the suite rooms still have the old traditional architecture and atmosphere but now also have all the comforts of a modern hotel room; it is the perfect combination of modern comfort and old traditional style.
Special Chinese: these rooms on the second floor give you the feeling of staying at a museum. The rooms are decorated in traditional Chinese style and have a balcony with a beautiful view on the romantic old town. The Special Chinese rooms, of course, also offer you all the comforts of a modern hotel room to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. It was one of these rooms that Michael Caine used as a dressing room while filming the Quiet American.
